For the final day of Giftmas, it was all about picking out the perfect gift for him…

And just like that, the final day of Giftmas is upon us! I feel like the weeks leading up to Christmas always go by in a flash- but I hope this week has provided you with a little inspiration for your present shopping, if like me your’e still muddling through it! Anyway! Today is all about shopping for the men, or man in your life! Like I’ve said before- it’s always hard to avoid gender cliché bingo here (cars! rugby! meat! beer! Although sometimes cliché for a reason…)- and these gifts could be just as perfect for your best pal or sister too, but equally pulled together a few bits I know everyone from Joe to my brother would like, which I hope might help point you in the right direction too!

So- let’s start with books! Grind have just released the coolest coffee table book of 2021; packed with everything from delicious brunch recipes, anecdotes about their London institutions and so much more, and would make for a brilliant gift (maybe with some of their coffee pods too)! There’s also this gorgeous book of Hockney posters from my pal Dulcie’s beautiful new vintage home ware offering, Human Sea Home. She has the most gorgeous selection (with everything from glasses to paperweights too)- and has kindly offered 10% off of orders using the code ‘LIVPURVIS10‘ from now until December 24th, which is pretty lovely indeed. I also included one of my albums of the year (even though it’s only *just* come out), from Fur (who, if they don’t happen to already be a fan, would be a very cool new addition to their record collection). Rough Trade also do a great monthly record club, so that could be something that might be up their street for any music lovers too. For ‘smellies’ I absolutely love Grown Alchemist for a stunningly scented selection of shareable smells (wow! the alliteration!), and I’m a huge fan of their body washes and lotions too. Finally, I wanted to include a new discovery from Meraki Mailouts– a monthly subscription box for anyone ‘who wants to reignite their creative fire or is keen to spend time by themselves doing something mindful each week’. Each box comes with a selection of sustainably sourced items; be it inks, recipe cards, a notepad, teas (etc.) to help inspire and drive a little solo creative time when everything feels a little hectic. It’s the most lovely idea, and a true way of giving someone the little gift of ‘me’ time, when we most need it.

Some other lovely suggestions for the fella in yer life!

  • The Vinyl Wall: For the ultimate in cool home decor, pick him up some of these to display all of his Spice Girls records!
  • The S word: SOCKS! Oh my god I am at an age where socks are a useful, cosy and well-respected gift (I think? I hope?) Either way- Critically Endangered do the loveliest charity socks to support endangered wildlife (and also happen to be really lovely too). Falke also rank very, very highly in my cosy socks stakes too.
  • Ain’t Saint Candles: Because everyone, I mean, everyone needs this Bob Mortimer candle in their life.
  • Temple Skincare: Specialising in skincare and wellness products for men of colour, everything from the branding to the products are *chefs kiss*!
  • Will Make(s) Things: For a beautiful keepsake, be it from a special shared place or sentimental spot- these beautiful handcrafted maps would look beautiful framed.
  • The Book of Dog Poems: Because the only thing nicer than an IRL doggo is reading about how wonderful they are.

I’ve also added previous links to guides for the men in your life, if you need further reading too (as well as some extra picks below)!
