As I sit on a busy number 47 from Liverpool Street to Bellingham, it’s nice having a quiet moment to sit and type an almost diary-like entry of how Joe and I spent our Sunday a couple of weeks ago.
Rarely having a spare moment between us, it almost felt like we needed to pack in as much as humanly possible into a free day (whilst also being as leisurely as relaxed as possible).
Having not visited East London for a long time, and being somewhere we used to head to every couple of weeks growing up (we were saying it’s been nearly ten years since we used to hang outside Rough Trade for their in-stores)- it was nice to revisit some of our old favourites and soak up the buzz of Shoreditch on a Sunday- somewhere that’s definitely gotten busier as the years go on (which, yes, I know makes me sound like a nana- but so have it)!

We haven’t made a lot of time for days out like this and although we always vow to make more time for ‘date days’ and just embracing the city we live in- we’re definitely not naturals at it. But, it was so lovely to just walk around. To squeeze our way up Columbia Road shoulder to shoulder with the other people there- bargaining for blooms and then grabbing a flaky filled sausage roll at Lily Vanilli’s. London is one of the most beautiful places in the Autumn, and although Columbia road at 12pm isn’t always a testament to that (let me tell you it’s busier than Next on Boxing Day), it’s so nice to potter around the quieter side streets and slip into little vintage and antique shops to escape the bustle.

On top of that, watching the leaves change and the light get lower in the city is one of the most beautiful things- and although the next couple of weeks bring quite a fair bit of travel, I always look forward to Autumn in London- and hope I can really soak it up when I get back too.

October 8, 2018 at 11:16 amIt looks and sounds like a nice way to spend the weekend! I love the dress, this green isn’t a colour I tend to wear but you might be convincing me! And all of those sunflowers look so beautiful. Such a cheerful flower!

October 9, 2018 at 6:58 amAww this post is making me miss London! I love Columbia Road, though maybe not when the flower market is on – it’s just a bit too much for me! Maybe I should go really early one day when it’s not too many people yet… x

October 9, 2018 at 8:44 pmIt is about time I should visit East London! I loved the style of this post, it feels like reading a lovely story.
I love walking around London, but mostly on the not-so busy parts though, it can feel very relaxing (I’m thinking of the parks especially!)

October 10, 2018 at 3:05 amI loved this diary-type post!! These are probably my favourite kind of posts to read, honestly. That dress looks gorgeous on you, and this day out sounds so lovely. Forever hoping that one day, I’ll get to travel to England and go to all the places I’ve read or seen my fav bloggers & vloggers talk about.

October 11, 2018 at 4:38 amAutumn in London looks absolutely beautiful! And I love all the depth in the photos. I think dresses and sneakers are my favorite combo right now, and a bouquet of florals/greenery is ALWAYS a necessity.

You look gorgeous in this dress btw, also loved that you picked up some flowers, so cute!
