Post in collaboration with bareMinerals
Day to day, my most common make up look is forever something rosy, glowy- and yet always matte enough to cover up whatever mischief my skin is probably playing up to underneath. It’s the look I turn to again and again, and something that is not only perfect for day-to-day but looks beautiful with a little added glow for the party season too (plus, if you don’t fancy shopping a new outfit, beauty is the next best thing to play around with)!
So, when bareMinerals got in touch to let me know about their beautiful Give The Stars Christmas gift sets and campaign, I was more than a little excited to combine some of my favourite products of theirs (as well as a few new introductions) to create something beautifully festive and absolutely wearable.
Having been one of my favourite beauty and skincare brands for what feels like forever, I was hugely excited to explore their collection a little more and pick out some of my favourites for this- because as well as having some beautiful gift sets, it’s their ethos which is just as much a treat as the presents themselves.

Yup, that’s right. Not only are their products brilliant at packing serious pigment (or, ahem, (punch)- but little did I know they’re also launching and celebrating the Power Of Good within their products too- which, in my opinion, makes their gift sets all the more festive. Because hey- what’s more festive than being a beautiful brand that not only embraces clean ingredients and cares for the skin- but is is cruelty free and can also carry you from desk to dance floor too? If that ain’t clean without compromise, I don’t know what is.
Plus, if that wasn’t enough, their gift sets are all astrologically themed this year too, so if like me you’re a little invested in the stars, moon and all things Mystic Meg- this may well be up your street too (FYI, I’m a gemini and included the Midnight Moon Beam Lash Duo into my look, which was pretty gorgeous indeed).

1. Now! To the look! The first thing I always begin with is primer. Taken from the Supernova Space Glossary, I used the Prime Time Foundation Primer base for a matte, even blurred finish. I find it so important to make sure my skin is as oil-free and clean as possible, and this primer is the perfect place to start.
2. Saying that, I truly think the real bareMinerals stars of the show are their Mineral Original Loose Powder Foundations. Having never used anything like this until I tried this- I was genuinely blown away by how gorgeous this foundation is. If like me you have combination skin and don’t love a heavy cakey coverage, this is so worth adding into your makeup bag.
Not only does it apply beautifully, but gives the perfect build-able natural matte coverage- without looking chalky or heavy in any way. It’s a true wonder product- and means you can easily skip a setting powder if you really want something light and breathable (that still lasts), too.

I also pulled out the Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral and used Sandstone for an all over eye base, followed by layering Believer, Tribe and Native in the corners (and then a little bit of Native on my brows too). To top of eyes, I used a little bit of the Small Loose eye colour in Queen Phyllis in the corners of my lids too.
4. On to eyes! I always, always wear a kohl liner in my waterline, and for this I used the One Fine Line Precision Eyeliner in Exact Onyx in the line. The finishing touch was layering up the Lashtopia Mascara– with this being the perfect mascara for multiple coats that don’t go spidery either!

5. And last but not least, lips! Using a Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick in ‘Crush’ from the Celestial Magic lipstick set, I patted the shade on to my lips for a finishing glossy touch. I’m very much a ‘fingers only!’ when it comes to nude and pink lipsticks and this definitely gave a gorgeous pink natural finish to the complete look.

The product menu:
Prime Time Foundation Primer, Original Foundation Powder in Fairly Light, Large Loose Mineral Veil Finishing Powder, Medium Loose Blush in Beauty, Medium Loose Radiance Powder in Clear, Small Loose Eye colour in Queen Phyllis, Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette, One Fine Line Precision Micro Eyeliner in Exact Onyx, Lashtopia Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara, Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick in Crush, Double Ended Soft Focus Shadow & Blush Brush (and the two sets including the Celestial Magic Gift Set, Midnight Moon Beam Lash Duo and Supernova Space Glossary).

December 12, 2018 at 5:28 amAhhh that eyeshadow palette is gorgeous! I’m all about natural, neutral eye looks. There’s only one or two times a year that I go for the smokey, full on, dark eyeshadow look. This is such a gorgeous, neutral, dressy option for this time of year x
