So, this gal has been working on plenty more beauty content of late, and I have to admit- it’s been a lot of fun! I know I’m no beauty expert, but I do love putting pen to paper (or, erm, fingers to laptop) and jotting down all things skin care and make up. I only realised recently that I’ve never actually done a post about my favourite product- the lipstick- so quickly pulled out my top five (which was surprisingly easy) for this post. I’m sure it’ll chance in the coming months, but for now these are the front runners! I’d love to know what other beauty posts you’d like to see over here, so let me know!
Ever since featuring this lipstick in my smokey eye tutorial last year, it’s been the one nude lipstick that I’ve held on to, and find really compliments my skin tone. Not only is it really nourishing (without losing it’s matte finish)- it’s got a warm beige tint to it too, meaning it’s not so pale it could be mistaken for a foundation mishap- top work Bobbi Brown!
For summer, my favourite coral lipstick has to be awarded to Clinique’s Pop Lip Colour in the shade Melon Pop. Not only is it hugely hydrating (being part primer and all) but the pigmentation is still really impressive, and lasts incredibly well without drying my lips out either. I’ve yet to try the others from the Pop collection- but if they’re anything like this little number, I’m sure I’ll be a fan.
Well, this has quickly become my absolute favourite lippie ever. Formerly a hugely committed Rimmel 107 girl for all my burgundy lipstick needs, this Olivia Palermo for Ciate ‘stick has firmly flown it’s way to the top spot. If I’m totally honest, I did buy the lipstick initially as I’m a bit of a huge O.P lover (not just the initials)- but after trying this rich red (which I layer a little for something more burgundy)- I definitely have a new numero uno!
I’m not really the kind of girl that’s brave enough to channel a power pink lip, but this dusty rose colour from Tom Ford’s Lips and Boys collection is indefinitely one of my favourites when things are getting a little girlier. As well as being the perfect bridge between a nude and a pink, this lippie has a super faint touch of sparkle, which makes things a little more special too.
Picking out my favourite red shade was probably the hardest of the five, but after examining the most worn (which was between Ruby Woo, Dangerous and Lady Danger) the favourite was Dangerous. It’s one of the most long wearing lipsticks I own (which does require a bit of balm before application)- and is the most wonderful orange toned red, which sits perfectly with this pasty face and makes me feel a bit like Beyonce on a good day. The power of a red lipstick…
