Okay, so apparently this week has been the week of the suit, with girlie dresses, any candy flossed organza and puffed sleeves out of the window for the time being (but fear not, I’m sure they’ll be back soon)- with a sassy two piece, being my go-to of choice for meetings and rushing around the city (even better when it’s a pair of shorts in this funny old weather).
Okay, so it might not be entirely appropriate for the 8:09 service to Charing Cross (when a sea of grey and navy Moss tailoring is the standard uniform), but I’ve long been of fan of mannish tailoring and dressing (that’s suits to you and I, not tracksuit bottoms, boxers and polo shirts) so this New Look co-ord put a fun (and more ladylike) spin on something a little more formal. On top of that, I remember seeing a two piece from Warehouse a couple of years ago and literally obsessing over it- and truly believing that by owning a tile print jacket and trousers, I could finally achieve all ambition of being Florence Welch- queen of the printed two piece. I know, it still hasn’t happened- but I’m getting there. Onwards and upwards, and here’s to more commuter shocking looks!
