Okay, okay I can fully appreciate this look is a bit Von Trapp the ‘Hills Are Alive’ chic (or not). What I meant to go for was something mildly reminiscent of that Dior black-top-and-big-floral-skirt combination, but alas Julie Andrews swishing through the Austrian fields of green shall have to suffice- but hey, I quite like it. Since receiving this skirt for my birthday last month, I’ve taken it out again and again pairing it with everything from fitted bodies, loose knits and over sized camis. Not only does it hide a multitude of leg based sins, and occasionally supply sassy Marilyn inspired pavement moments (still trying to work out if this is a good thing or not) it has the power of making one feel ever so slightly ’50s Hepburn esque- which I can assure you, is only ever a good thing. Additionally, paired with this gorgeous ‘K Vintage’ bag by Folli Follie (which is up there in complete luggage heaven) it makes for a pretty classic, yet statement look- perfect for an en route stroll to the bakery via some musical inspired fields.
