From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

For a long time, Brighton based What Laura Did Next has been a go to for me- from everything fashion, wish listing and the best places to head (this month, ahem Paris) to and trust me, she knows her stuff. This twenty-something girl (who is also a gem in real life) picks out the most beautiful items; be it jewellery from the stunning Alex Monroe to styling the summers most covetable looks (and popping them in the perfect holiday packing guide) as well as keeping us in the loop with hot to trot press days- not bad huh? Plus, may I just say- THAT BURGER CAKE.

The blog of Jessica Emily is a completely striking corner of the internet, and one of which I wish I came across more. Her blog is a tale of beautiful places (she lives in Australia) and an overflowing wardrobe, with each outfit post photographed as if it were part of a stunning editorial- which is certainly something to be proud of. With each outfit carefully crafted, and equally as gorgeous- each post is a story in itself, and I could easily spend hours scrolling through her amazing blog- what a doll!

The Cinnamon Slipper comes straight from the beautiful and incredibly talented lady that is Rebecca. Her blog documents her adventures into the world of presenting, fashion and upcoming trends- as well as lots of beautiful lifestyle based posts that will have you lusting after vintage inspired dresses (she has a seriously enviable collection of pretty frocks), Kent seaside and English countryside adventures and a vintage shopping trip, pronto. Plus, her outfit posts are some of my favourite on the net…

Twenty something law graduate Mona’s blog is the perfect recipe of beautiful personal style and lust worthy lifestyle posts- and did I mention she has a fashion sense that I am completely envious of? Think YSL style hats, embroidered blouses to send you to the nearest Topshop and a collection of dresses that would leave most girls in complete awe; this lady is playing her sartorial cards right. Heck she even posts recipes to the best looking brownies (and red velvets) in town- domestic goddess anyone?

Chloe Witty’s blog is the perfect mix of everything fashion and beauty- with a peppering of other treats in between. From hot new brand posts that we need to be checking out, room tours and roundups (because hey, we all love to be a little nosey), days out in the city and outfit posts that ooze the ‘Hey! I just threw this on coolness’ that we all yearn for- this girl’s blog is the perfect fix of laid back lovliness that always has me going back for more.

Sujuu is a jewellery company I have a lot of time for. Maintaining extremely high ethical standards, their jewellery equates to beautiful pieces with a huge difference. Whether ‘supporting fashion graduates in London, or communities in the Tien Chan Mountains’ and the ethos that ‘beauty shouldn’t be achieved at the expense of others’ everything is ethically made and completely stunning at that. With a series of independent brands and designs taking home on their site, and everything from pineapple pieces (I am in love), stacking rings or handmade scarves- it’s time to start saving your pennies!

It’s no secret that I’m completely infatuated by this lovely little online boutique. Having been a pretty big fan girl of Ever Ours for as long as I can remember- they never cease to have some of the most covetable (and well priced) pieces online. From Chung-esque dungarees, big jewel statement necklaces a la Miss Palermo or collar pins to finish off that already prepped outfit- there’s a little something for everyone- with nearly everything sitting pretty under Β£20- amazing, I know. At the moment I’m longing for the gorgeous bohemian inspired blouse- be still my beating heart!

Little Nell is the perfect online boutique selling a darling selection of hand made and handpicked jewellery and vintage scarves- stocking everything from delicate gold and silver charm bracelets (stars a plenty), quartz, amethyst and hand painted pendants to stunning bobby pins and cute antler necklaces. Additionally, recent site new-ins include perfect paisley vintage scarves (yup, only Β£10)- a.k.a the perfect festival accessory, which no neck- or up do will be complete without- mark my words…

Fashion journalist, Laura’s blog is the perfect insider peep into the big wide world of fashion and beauty, and boy does she do it well. With honest, straightforward beauty reviews, THE most lust worthy high street sale bargains (the most beautiful Topshop frock and an awesome candle that wins ‘coolest random home item’ awards…), answering all your Disney character style inspo needs (you’ll have to see it to believe it) and stunning outfit photos which will certainly have you lusting after the latest high street buys (how gorgeous does she look in that Zara skater dress)- Laura’s blog should be your first stop for fashion and beauty from a girl seriously in the know.

mille n mae
Having featured this gorgeous jewellery store on my blog before, and having coveted many of their pieces since they began just recently- Mille ‘n’ Mae are my go to for on budget finishing touches to outfits- whether it be jewellery, floral festival crowns, kitsch rings or Liberty print hair bows (the perfect finishing touch for my ‘hive). This lovely retailer also homes my favourite Me & Zena- so if the already thriving selection isn’t quite enough for you (as if) you can indulge in one of their gorgeous pieces too- don’t mind if I do…

Huckleberry Friend is a sweet UK blog written by self confessed directioner, Lottie- currently living by the sunny English seaside. With her blog presenting a series of gorgeous, wearable outfit posts (shown both as still life and posed snaps), dreamy affordable wishlists, helpful make up posts (with easy step by step guides- I could certainly learn a thing or two), a few sunny Sunday adventures (forever supplying a little wanderlust) and a sprinkle of home DIY thrown in for good measure- a perfect all rounder, and one to bookmark!
