I’m not really one to take full inspiration from the catwalk. I’ll dip my toes into certain trends; perhaps pick up colours, notes or even make up looks- and then go happily back to my favourite striped t shirt and jeans outfit- business as usual. However, it’s no secret (or surprise) that I completely fell head over pointed flats (see what I did there?) for the Louis Vuitton SS13 collection. It was extravagantly sixties, hugely graphic yet perfectly simple- and I couldn’t wait to create something similar myself…
It turns out wearing head to toe sky blue, with a significantly unsubtle ‘hive (finished with white ribbon, naturally) isn’t the best way of going unnoticed on the great British high street (or even on the District line) but it’s nice to dress up once in a while isn’t it? Plus, I seem to be known for my overdressing habit- so it’s nice to fully embrace it once in a while- and this ASOS dress, Topshop coat and cute as a button pin seemed the be the perfect answer to one of my favourite trends.
Additionally, it seemed like the perfectly appropriate outfit to indulge in a bacon, egg and tomato butty with one of my favourite ladies, Jaz. Thankfully, London Queen Miss Rocks knows all of the best lunchtime spots in the SW (massive!) and took me to a lovely spot on the corner of South Kensington station called Muriel’s Kitchen. We chatted boys, biscuits (if you could only see the selection), beats and ‘Becca (sorry Rebecca, but alliteration over appropriate nicknames) and sipped on sugary white tea and naughty naughty sandwiches- pretty perfect for a rainy Saturday afternoon.
