The general bank holiday equation usually goes as follows: hope of sunshine + promise of picnic + rolling Kent country = perfect bank holiday Monday. Saying that, most British Mondays are usually tarnished with a drizzling of showers- be it it a bank holiday or not, but it seems this time we got lucky (let’s hope it’s the same in two weeks- 20 degrees you’re high)! Of course- this could only mean one thing- picnic o’clock. Following a speedy visit to Marks and Sparks (this isn’t just any picnic…) and a swift packing of the most tartan blanket we could find, it was time to bundle in the car and set off.
Now, for a day which is to be pretty much spent eating copious amounts of ham rolls/chip stick crisps/and strawberry iced buns, spent paddling and splashing in (extremely cold) streams and climbing old fallen trees (my younger Brownie Guide will always live on)- these beauties from The WhitePepper seemed like the perfect fit. Not only are they incredibly comfortable and from one of my favourite online stores, but according to the grape vine they’re pretty hip at the moment too- who’d have thunk it? I also took my cute-as-a-button fox bag out for a spin- who did a pretty excellent job at looking after my belongings (it has a built in laptop holder, omgz), and making a pretty adorable back companion.
I’m not sure about you, but I could certainly get used to Monday’s being spent like this! I hope you all had a lovely day- here’s to the next one!
