From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

It’s incredibly rare that I’ll ever flick through the pages of a Glossy magazine, and yearn to recreate the main fashion editorial. Obviously I don’t mean full location, identical items, stylists and call sheets (can you imagine having a call sheet for outfit photos!?)- but the feeling of pure inspiration that comes when you want to delicately cut out the images (or rip them out of excitement), plaster them on your bedroom wall and be that girl with those items.

This happened to me recently when flicking through the pages of the December issue of my favourite, Cosmopolitan. With the story shot in Disneyland Paris (as if this wouldn’t already be enough) and sprinkled with pink fluffy knits, bubblegum trainers and cheeky pink lips- it was a complete dream (if you don’t have the issue, I urge you buy it) and was by far one of the most magical editorials I’ve seen in a while (now can you see why this picture was such an inspiration?)- I know my year 12 photography teacher would be thrilled I’d tried my hand at an ‘artists reponse’! If you don’t believe me, check out this teaser video for the shoot too- how cute, and my Vans were the perfect Converse substitute too!

On top of that, it also tied in well with the awesome new Sky designer collaboration launches- with Giles Deacon being the brains behind this gorgeous Minnie Mouse iPad case- what a dream! Now, for goodness sake, get me to Disneyland!

and here’s what I wore…
