With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!


Ladies behind the sidebar- November 2013

This gorgeous fashion and lifestyle blogs comes straight from Californian beauty Victoria, who is a self confessed fashion admirer, nature observer and excessive picture taker. Treelined Avenue The perfect escape for chilly British afternoons, this blog is the ultimate ray of sunshine and combines American adventures (yes, there’s a fair bit of sunshine), beauty tips (and how to battle winter dry skin), beating stress, outfits and perfectly written posts that’ll be the perfect accompaniment to a good ol’ cup of tea.

Based in the North East, Amy’s gorgeous blog, The Girl In The Bowler Hat is one of my favourite new sites. Inspired by sixties fashion (yes, this girl can work it) and the ultimate lust worthy beauty pieces, her pretty perfect piece of the ‘net has awesome blogger interviews, dreamy wish lists (look away now- and hide your moolah) and some of the most gorge outfit posts out there; pretty frocks, a good ‘hive and bowler hats? You had me at hello Amy…

Adventures of an Anglophile is a gorgeous site written by Andini, a 21 year old Australian girl residing in London
(with a penchant for collars and anything British). Her blog is a mixture of gorgeous statement outfits (including THE Isabel Marant x HM bomber), awesome launches (Craze clothing is looking pretty special), and of course- her adventures in London; be it the theatre, gigs or general musings- which I’m sure will give you a real lust for your city and making the most of it- good job girl.

Up and coming beautiful singer songwriter, Bryony Foale is a complete breath of fresh air- whose sound can namely be described as ‘quirky folk pop’- I know, a perfect mix right? With nostalgic, whimsical childhood inspired songs and delicate, yet powerful vocals- this lady is one to watch. To stay up to date on releases (her new album Paper Dreams has just come out) and amazing gigs- head to her Facebook page!

With online window shopping being a pretty big part of her life, Lucy Riches blog is a high street haven of goodness. From expect weekly wish lists galore, gorgeous outfit posts and perfect ‘how to wear’ posts (yes, you can wear shorts in the winter). This girl knows how to work everything from leather (be it a biker or a pencil skirt), awesome graphic prints and top trends (yup, we’re talking tartan) from everyone’s favourite high street heroes- a must visit!

Mod Dolly
Having re launched this month with an amazing new layout and design direction, Mod Dolly is the perfect haven of beautiful one off designs, created by Amy He herself. From vintage, to reworked to handmade- there are pieces from all walks of life, each and every one as special as the next. From the most perfect check smock (AND it’s called the Olivia ahem), ’90s tartan galore and velvet collared dresses, the new collection (snapped and filmed by the talented Hanna Kristina) holds some serious treasures to be had, come and see (plus, they’re incred value)!

The Cinnamon Slipper comes straight from the beautiful and incredibly talented lady that is Rebecca. Her blog documents her adventures into the world of fashion and upcoming trends (she even makes her own frocks and knows her ’60s hair)- as well as lots of beautiful lifestyle based posts that will have you lusting after vintage inspired dresses (how gorgeous is her Betsey J style post?!), visits to the Zoo and English countryside adventures and a vintage shopping trip, pronto. Plus, her outfit posts are some of my favourite on the net- she can rock the retro look…

Olive and Frank
Olive and Frank are back this Winter with a new look, and gorgeous new collection (accessories included)- enabling you to have a one-stop-shop when doing a bit of outfit shopping- amazing, right? With an exciting new bloggers network and new products made for the ‘hip and stylish’ girl, there’s a bevy of vintage inspired pieces, ticking every trend from ’90s grunge and ’60s swing. With covetable pieces including the perfect striped t shirts, cosy chunky jumpers, and more jewellery than even the biggest magpie could wish for (which is saying something)- it’s worth a look in!

Love Hearts
Now, if there’s one place for fail safe accessory inspo- it’s Love Hearts and Crosses. This bustling and brilliant online boutique has every type of accessory you could ever wish for, trust me- you name it you’ll find it here. From cute as a button porcelain animal jewellery (sausage dogs, deers, foxes, my Little Pony- they got it all), statement necklaces galore (a winter jumper just won’t look the same), chunky gem and delicate midi rings and even a £10 lucky dip- there’s no excuse to not get accessorizing, especially at these prices.

Created by the beautiful and talented Jade Murray, Ginger Pickle offers a beautifully curated range of handmade gifts made by the best British independent designers- from jewellery and brooches (they have Breaking Bad brooches, and AWESOME feminist ones) to beautiful home wares (prints saying ‘I left my heart in Paris’ and plenty of puns) and stationary- it’s the perfect location for pretty Christmas present touches, a perfectly on point birthday gift with a card to match (that no one else would have picked up) or something to make a house a home- all completely on budget and gift wrapped FREE of charge Perfect.
