From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

Hi, my name’s Olivia and sometimes I wish my surname was Haim. Either because that could potentially grant me with an inch of coolness a certain trio of sisters ooze (no I haven’t got a ‘bass face’ and my hair is far too thin to leave natural), or even maybe present me with some musical talent that stretches further than the triangle, or merely listening to it. Y’know. Either or…

…Alas, my surname is Purvis and the closest I’ll ever get to playing a festival is if it’s a self hosted one (Livapalooza anyone?) with only my parents in attendance. Ahem. Saying all of the above, it is possible to take a little ‘fashspiration’ from the holy grail of new music- and the Haim ladies are no exception. Think throwing on my new favourite ever tan tasseled jacket, vintage inspired embroidered blouse and cat eyed sunnies (because sunglasses make bad ass hair accessories, dontcha know) and putting some serious strut in my step (a girl can try). It may not change my surname, but I’m certainly packing this for Great Escape…

and here’s what I wore…
