I’ll confidently argue that there is nowhere quite as beautiful as the British seaside. Even on a grey day, there’s something about the chilly breeze, salty air, brave surfers bobbing on the water and the promise of a steaming mug of tea when you get in afterwards that makes it feel like home.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m just as enthralled by a sea that doesn’t drain the colour from you when you go for a paddle as the next- but there’s something familiar about the British seaside, and visiting Salcombe for the first time last week with Liz Earle was just as beautiful as you’d imagine.
With friends who have waxed lyrically about beautiful Devon in the past, being able to visit one of Salcombe’s treasures The Moult- added even more magic to an already beautiful trip. With the house overlooking the coves and bay of Salcombe, it’s pink walls and endless maze of bedrooms felt almost castle like and regal; their cushioned window seats gazing over the chopping autumn waves of the coastline making every morning feel like something from a storybook and certainly not a typical morning for yours truly.

Being here to celebrate the incredibly exciting launch of the new Cleanse & Polish Body (coming soon) also meant we had a bursting itinerary of botanics- including a workshop using some of the main product ingredients to a tour around the grounds garden with total botanical expert, James Wong– who is a total genius when it comes to all things green. I don’t think I’ve ever learnt so much about plants (so much so, I now hope I may stand a chance at keeping some of my house plants alive- huzzah)!
I feel like a lot of people have very similar stories about Cleanse & Polish too. With Liz Earle’s new campaign being #YourSkinYourStory, it made me realise how I first discovered the product, and how I don’t imagine there are many with a dissimilar tale. Having discovered it through my nan, and then later my mum (both of which have incredible skin, FYI- and that’s without me being biased)- it was a total ‘proof is in the pudding’ purchase, and something I always, always come back to- despite however many new launches and shiny new bottles end up in my bathroom cabinet.
It’s the failsafe staple I know will never let me down, break me out or dry my skin- which I suppose is why I’m so excited about their new edition for body. With my body being something I neglect when it comes to skincare (give me a bar of soap and a pinch of reluctance and we’re normally set)- lately, I’ve been worrying more and more about looking after it. After several spots on my back and chest popping up more regularly than I’d like, I’ve decided I need to start giving my body as much TLC as my face- and this couldn’t have come at a better time.

As well as exciting launches, the couple of days by the coast included seaside strolls and late afternoon dips in the pool. It couldn’t have been more of a ‘what the doctor’ ordered trip- and the combination of brilliant company and endless girlie chats (and laugh ‘til it counts as exercise giggles) meant that our time by the sea couldn’t have been more of a tonic.

Stay tuned for more from the coast, and I promise I’ll also let you know how I get on with the new body cleanser too- I’m one excited lady!

The trip was hosted by the lovely team at Liz Earle, but all thoughts and love of Cleanse & Polish are my own

September 27, 2018 at 10:06 pmHow utterly gorgeous & idyllic England is, even the seaside! I’m gonna have to add Salcombe to the list of places I want to see & visit in England. Liz Earle products are iconic, and for good reason!
