Rest assured I’m not boiling down my love of France simply down to a good breton stripe and anything Francoise Hardy inspired- but with my summer wardrobe seemingly in some sort of mid-season limbo, it’s hard to not take inspiration from snaps like this and a good pair of white jeans- especially when I can promise you when I say, sartorially- 2017 has been the year of throw back style- with a particular light shining on Ms. Hardy and Birkin.
I for one am becoming hard pushed to not scroll Instagram and see some wicker, some sunshine tinged aviators and a baker boy cap. I mean, they’re certainly more practical than an acoustic guitar, fresh baguette or easel for any Matisse style works of art- and I’m a self confessed fangirl of this mini movement online. Platforms are transforming into mood boards and wardrobe inspiration has never been so aligned with the rows of stripes I currently have in my wardrobe waiting to be worn. So yes, consider this a little tribute to all things Parisian inspired (or just an excuse to match a whole outfit head to toe)- either or, really…
