It dawned on me recently that Joe and I hadn’t paid visit to our beloved Brighton in nearly a year and a half. I’m not quite sure how we’ve managed to let that happen, but with a travel fuelled 2016, and commitments filling up the end of the previous year- somehow we hadn’t quite made enough time for the hour train journey to our favourite seaside abode. Good heavens indeed.
So, when presented with a clear Saturday in the diary (and naturally on the week Storm Doris hit, typical)- we decided to rectify the belated trip with an afternoon by the coast (with my common sense blissfully unaware that February by the sea is a very cold and windy affair. But! All weather conditions aside (and following a brief visit to the pier- not my wisest move), we truly had a lovely afternoon. I’ve often said before how it’s not often we get to just soak up a city- but being able to head back to favourite shops (including Workshop and Our Daily Edit), people watch as we tucked into warm bagels in the Laines and then pick up gooey brownies for the train home made for a perfectly relaxed Saturday, and certainly the type I need to make more time for in 2017.
P.S Sorry for the short photo post too! It was incredibly windy (see above) and we got a little lost with meandering around the shops to take more photographs! Oops!
