London Loves #7: A Bakery Gem

It probably wouldn’t take a detective to work out that I’m partial to a pastel interior and a cake or two (a quick peek at my Instagram supplies all the evidence needed)- so when I recently discovered that Bea’s of Bloomsbury (one of my favourite little bakery gems)- had opened in Marylebone I was all ears…

Nestled just off of the bustle of the High Street, Bea’s is the perfect place for street-side coffees or window-side people watching on cooler days (we saw everything from business meetings to family gatherings when we went, so it’s certainly an all-rounder kind of spot). The interior inside oozes Nordic cosiness, and the white walls, wooden detailing and pastel furnishings all make it one of the daintiest gems in this part of town. But let’s face it- you can’t eat pink chairs can you? And although you’d question it- Bea’s isn’t directly known for it’s interiors but for it’s impeccable cake menu, duh…

Famous for their delicious Nutella or jam filled duffins (that’s the lovechild of a donut and muffin, folks) and icy sweet cinnamon buns (that are surprisingly light)- there’s plenty of choice from tiered afternoon teas, a light lunch or a classic cupcake too (in case you’re not really a doughy kinda guy). It’s also perfect if you need a bit of a quiet haven after a busy couple of hours on Oxford Street too- any excuse for tea and cake…
