From The Archive: 2016

The year of travel- from Aus to Africa- as well as some of my favourite ever photos, I hope 2016 brings a small dose of wanderlust (and fashion inspiration if not)!

The Charlotte Tilbury Scent

…introducing Scent Of A Dream…

Its’ been a couple of years since I first fell head over heels for a certain Vintage Vamp make up collection (which I promise had nothing to do with the rose gold and rich maroon packaging)- and ever since I’ve been positively in love with Charlotte Tilbury. There aren’t many brands who have such a direct and personal connection to the product, but Charlotte’s passion with every element to the product, design, aesthetic and message are positively infectious- she’s a force to be reckoned with, that’s for sure.

So, when I heard about the launch of her debut fragrance, Scent Of A Dream– you can only imagine the excitement around it (to give you an idea; let’s just say it’s been the Frank Ocean album 2 beauty equivalent)- and I can safely assure you it’s unlike anything else I’ve ever owned (I told you Charlotte something else)…

Recognising scent is directly linked to emotion and memory, Charlotte’s fragrance plays on the law of attraction using a ‘floral chypre perfume harmony that Charlotte calls ‘fleurotic™ frequency’; fuelled by layers of notes (the joy, fleurotic and psychoactive notes) to create something truly special. After mixing her own secret scents for years (yup, this is how involved Charlotte is with everything)- Scent Of A Dream is the product of endless tinkering, discovery and ingredient matching- to create a scent that is layered with everything from light fruit notes, floral notes (including tuberose and jasmine) and deep sexy notes (from fire tree)- which gives the scent a grown up sexiness paired with something light and fresh too.

On top of that, it would be rude for me not to mention the stunning campaign that sits alongside this launch. Although, I can’t retell the story of this scent as beautifully as I first heard it, if you watch the video (starring long term friend and collaborator Kate Moss)- you’ll get a pretty accurate idea of a genuine story of one of this perfume’s initial wears- which I think is pretty special indeed- I told you Charlotte was magic.
