Vintage shopping, it’s been a while. After talking in this video about how I used to hit up charity shops and Brick Lane nearly every other weekend from the ages of about 14-18, it dawned on me when in Manchester recently how little I’ve been doing it lately- which is strange, because I bloody love vintage shopping. The satisfaction of finding something you both love and that fits is absolutely second to none, and getting to look through rails of what is essentially history whilst getting inspired is so very satisfying.
However, with blogging occasionally piling on the pressure to buy things new and on trend (with next day delivery usually always promised)- I’d forgotten how much I loved a bit of thrifting. Okay, so I can’t share links to those special items online (and heck, there ain’t no RewardStyle for this)- but being able to share something pre-loved and do something other than buy new felt good; both for my wardrobe and the environment. Plus, if you look closely (or, maybe not) you’ll see this dress pretty much coordinates with my background too- which you know is always enough for me.
