Down by the water

Whilst at Festival No. 6, Joe and I made sure to make a beeline for the beautiful coastline, and tried to time it so the tide was out when we went down. Although the sun was going down as we arrived (that’s what a day of music and overindulging in festival food does to your timekeeping)- there was still an early evening buzz about the place. With revellers adorning the shore and spotting themselves along the coastal walls, there seemed to be a constant feeling of merriment in Portmeirion (perhaps it’s in the name)- and although it was designed to look that way, I was pretty sure we could have mistaken our whereabouts for somewhere on the Mediterranean coastline- despite the fact there was definitely an unmistakeable British chill in the air. Ah, Autumn…

Now, one thing I’m trying to do this Autumn, is make more sensible purchases. Try and limit my impulsive ‘printed dress’ buying habit (which also applies to glittery shoes, items with cute animals on and novelty pyjamas)- and select items with longevity, and things that will last me year after year. Obviously, with this ‘new’ idea came the absolute need for a knit (typically something practical that I have few of, but tend to borrow from Joe)- and headed straight for this oat coloured one in & Other Stories. Paired with some delicate gold pieces, some ripped ankle grazers and trusty pointed boots- it all tied together for a pretty easy outfit (that definitely says ‘hey! I’m having a lazy day- but look I really tried)…

P.S I officially described an item of clothing as ‘oat’ toned. Who am I #porridgeonthebrain
