This month I’ve certainly been starting to get into the Spring spirit of things, and although I’ve suffered a bit of a naughty cold- there’s few things as lovely as curling up with magazines as beautiful as Kinfolk and Cherry Bombe to re-inspire yourself (obviously with a candle as sweet-smelling as Rosa Mundi in the background)- when you’re feeling less than bright. However, when I’ve been in town I managed to catch the Paul Smith exhibition (which was amazing- blog post anyone?) and catching one of my fave bands Temples at their Rough Trade album launch instore (which is a cracker, FYI). I’ve also been very much enjoying these beautiful Toms sunnies which although I haven’t been able to wear much this month (grrrr rain), have an amazing story behind them (more on this soon)- as well as this adorable Lulu G coin purse– perfect for fitting into little bags!
This month I made a couple of Space NK pit stops (including my first ever trip) and managed to pick up some pretty lovely bits. First thing came in the shape of this Laura Mercier Honey Bath (completely delicious and beautifully bubbly) which is making baths the most exciting part of my evening by far! I also picked up the Alexa for Eyeko products (the liner is fast becoming an eye-wear fave) and the Oribe dry texturising spray– which can make even my baby hair thick and swooshy (technical). On top of that, I’ve been in love with this Clinique Super defense Moisturiser (it kept even a coldy-dry nose soft) and their new fragrance, which is pretty much the epitome of summer smells- way to perk up a cloudy day! I’ve also been turning to this shampoo (anything scented with marshmallow and coconut is a winner) and this Lush massage bar, which is packed with butters and oils- leaving me a soft skinned chick. Finally, the new Benefit Gimmie Brow eyebrow product is also quite something- and the perfect remedy for Cara D esque natural brows!
It wouldn’t be a full on favourites without some foodie mentions now, would it? Two of my main foodie loves have been in the shape of pretty exciting soup (this Covent Garden number has seen me through endless questionable lunch times, AND is one of my 5 a day) with a madeline on the side (recipe coming next week)- plus, being the month of Valentine’s I was also asked to trial the romantic seasonal selection from Sweet Couture– which included a coconut and raspberry cupcake, which had me at hello. My last favourite has been these adorable measuring cups from Cath Kidston- which make American recipes a complete doddle- no more conversion confusion!
