From The Archive: 2012

A year of fewer questionable outfit choices, I finally found my blogging groove in 2012, and here you can find some favourite pieces, band interviews as they first appeared and a lot of hats too...

A Girl Can Dream: Winter Warmers (well, kind of…)

After having decided, promised and vowed to not spend another penny on clothing throughout the rest of the month (2 weeks and counting…) suddenly I began to spot things I now completely covet. Occasionally with wish lists, I’ll spot a few things I think are cool, the odd piece I’ll probably invest in and the rest that are pretty easy on the eye- but this time I am completely yearning for these pieces (and they’re not just pieces I’ve skimmed the net for- my bookmarks folder has been housing them for a fair while now!). It’s safe to say my what my next few payslips will be going on, but until the I’ll just have to stare into my computer screen with longing in my heart (a poetic way of saying ‘they’re really blooming nice’).
Anyway, this months wishlist consists of The Cambridge Satchel Company, Topshop & Sister Jane, Zara, Little Nell and ASOS. Now, if you know me I find it difficult to even fathom using another bag that isn’t my Alexa. After receiving it for my birthday this year I don’t think I’ve dared used another bag, but really feel that this satchel is a complete contrast, and in such a bright colour would give my Mulberry a well earned rest every now and then- perfectly justifiable, no?
I’m also in LOVE with nearly everything Sister Jane comes out with. Their dresses have the perfect girlie-yet-60s-beatnik feel and which girl isn’t a sucker for a nice collar… The other two Topshop pieces are pretty self explanatory. Summery pleated chiffon midi dress- check! Jumper with my initial on it in springs perfect colour- check! Speaking of dresses, this pastel green Zara dress has been on my wishlist for as long as I can remember and after seeing it in Company’s fashion cupboard I’m a little bit more in love with it (it also has the perfect cut out back detail!). Additionally, they would all look perfect layered with this gorgeous ASOS ladylike detail trench mmm…
Last but definitely not least are these stunning pieces from Little Nell! Having had her ad on my blog, I’ve certainly become accustomed to Penny’s delicate and beautiful jewellery designs, and with new pieces including gorgeous stacking rings and animal shaped pendants, what’s not to like (oh, and they’re all under £10!).

(also, you may have noticed my blog has had a little makeover! I hope you all like as much as I do! the brains behind it are Lauren & Emma– who will have a super special post coming soon thanks to their hard work!)
