It’s absolutely no secret that this time of year brings the daylight struggle, especially when you’re always taking pictures. When the light sucks away from 3pm, and it’s near to pitch black by 4- it’s near impossible to ever make the most of the afternoon- and usually conducts a choir of ‘oh it feels much later than it is!’ But sometimes it does have to be embraced, and if London is bloody good at one thing- it’s looking absolutely spectacular at night. So, naturally, Joe and I embraced the twinkling lights, glowing bus windows, befriended our ISO settings and attempted some photos.
Plus, isn’t there something extraordinarily festive about the city at night? The sparkling Christmas tree and giant baubles in Covent Garden may have had something to do with it (I definitely did not yelp when I saw the tree), but pulling on my new favourite Reiss knit and pleated skirt- I felt suitably Christmas ready, and certainly warm enough for an evening of strolling around my favourite capital.
