After being invited by the lovely ladies at Birchbox for an evening of R&R and switching off, I positively jumped at the chance to finally step away from my desk and take a moment to genuinely forget to open my laptop. Although typically these moments of ‘self care’ aren’t usually remedied by such a lovely trip- it was nice to pick up small notes and hints on looking after myself and taking heed of the small things that really make a big difference (e.g did you know tea tastes better boiled at 80 degrees opposed to anything hotter)? See! It’s the little things!

Although we weren’t exactly graced with glorious spring weather just yet (unless of course you consider squally showers as a qualifier), being able to roam around the grounds- soaking up the outdoors whilst always being close to a little lap of luxury felt really indulgent indeed. With our lodge boasting everything from a log burning fire, heavenly chintzy floral headboard, freestanding bath that I’m pretty sure you could lie down in and a kitchen decked out with everything from fresh bread to home baked cookies- you wouldn’t be wrong in saying Soho Farmhouse know how to nail the home away from home deliverables. Of course that’s without mentioning the reason why we were there in the first place! Celebrating Birchbox’s March ‘Be Present Not Perfect’ box, it was the perfect apt way of injecting a little pampering into a busy month- especially as I’ll (hopefully) be away when this goes up… more on Instagram!

March 31, 2018 at 6:38 pmIt always looks so relaxing at Soho Farmhouse, and tea ALWAYS tastes better when it’s not boiled to oblivion – we turn the kettle off just as it bubbles and it’s perfect hot but drinkable temperature and taste!
