…with those signs being the first sight of blossoms and definitely not my red ankles from inappropriate February dressing.
But hey, a girl’s gotta learn her own lessons when it comes to getting her ankles out at the right time I suppose. But, seeing as we have only one month (in my internal calendar anyway) left of winter, I’ve fully put shopping for any more knits, coats and thermals on hold- determined to exercise everything I have in my wardrobe, before I start doing the rounds on pastels, florals and Grace Kelly-esque spring pieces (a girl can dream). Of course, that wasn’t until I picked up this coat from Zara. Ahem. After coveting a certain Arket one all winter and letting it slip into the realms of ‘sold out forever’- I began scouring the ‘net for more of a gingham fix, before spotting this tailored number on Zara and making a cyber run for it.
It’s the kind of coat that almost reminds me of the gentlemen you see on the Waterloo and City line- double breasted, sharp tailoring and slim folded lapels (and naturally enough room for a suit underneath if the occasion should arise). But, being less of a city slicker, and more of a ‘PJS-in-my-spare-room-office’ kind of girl, it felt only appropriate to pair it with a favourite novelty knit (two words Im sure you’re now sick of from me), my GAP vintage straights and some knackered Converse.
But let’s talk about this little cutie of a bag too! Having picked it up from Reserved last week, it’s again become one of my pieces from them that I’ve ended up wearing endlessly. Much like my studded ankle boots (which have already racked up their own fair share of air miles), they’re a brand that are quietly confident when it comes to their accessories offerings, and also incredibly reasonably priced too- never a bad thing in my books if you ask me.
Anyway! Hopefully it’ll get slightly warmer soon so you can see me in something other than jeans, boots and knitwear, but until then we’ve got a little trip to Finland to post about on the cards- so maybe we’ll save packing anything away until after then…
