After giftmas was such a success this year, I’m back with one more pint sized post about some of the most important businesses around this time of year- independent ones. I know I did include some of my favourites across the last twelve posts- but given that one of my favourite sites Etsy has such a huge breadth of them- I thought I’d select some of my favourite picks and pop ’em in one place for some final ideas for any people still scratching their heads.
Additionally, if you’re still after more inspiration- Etsy have launched their #EtsyGiftSOS, where you’re able to tweet them with your tricky gifting request (be it Jen from HR, your dog-obsessed next door neighbour or nana who has everything) and they’ll come to the rescue with a whole heap of unique ideas that you know they wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else (no present dupes here)- and also handing out Etsy gift cards on the spot! So seeing as Santa doesn’t have twitter I can only say that has got to be the next best thing- not bad during the final countdown, right?
The Lovely Drawer: Whether you’re after some last minute Christmas cards, beautiful prints, personalised stationary or intricate inkings, Teri’s shop is one of my favourites- and her playful slogan prints are soon to adorn my walls!
Miss Crofton: Georgia and her beautiful underwear brand Miss Crofton are some of the prettiest on the ‘net. For some of the most delicate triangle bras, to printed panties and stunning French sets- it’s the ultimate treat (even if it’s a ‘To me, Love me’ gift)!
Papio Press: Cheltenham based Papio Press are home to some of the most beautifully illustrated stationary items and accessories- with a running theme of wildlife and animals (which, you know- is always good news). Aiming to support further independent businesses with theirs, they have an incredible approach to what they do- and create something seriously gorgeous in the process.
Oh No Rachio: It’s safe to say that whenever I’m in need of any gift idea, I’ll head straight over to Rachel’s shop. The queen of simplistic but stunning design- you can pick up everything from enamel pins (this girl knows her stuff), hand illustrated cards, totes and everything in between.
Bonbi Forrest: Bonbi Forrest are only a recent discovery of mine, but their personalised pins (where you can pop some special initials onto) and stunning jewellery (including hand created necklaces inspired by everything from space to nature) all had me at hello.
Hopscotch: A candle is something I absolutely trust when giving at Christmas, because it’s so hard to go wrong. They’re not always original, but when buying from somewhere as speciality as Hopscotch, you know it’ll be something special. With all candles and home fragrances hand poured and made in London- and a selection stretching into design and 100% natural beauty- there’s some complete gems for any beauty fiends in their shop.
Fox and Lilly: If you’re after something for the home that you won’t find elsewhere, Fox and Lilly do the most beautiful design-led homewares for beautiful modern spaces. With everything from trinket dishes to make up bags, each item is beautifully designed and created in Manchester.
This Way To The Circus: With every pot stocked on This Way To The Circus hand painted by one-woman-band Boe- these beautiful pots make the ultimate gift for the green-fingered lady. Whether you’re sprucing up a garden space, bedroom or window sill- popping a pot as pretty as this to a loved one is a surefire success.
Andsmile: I first discovered Andsmile whilst in Edinburgh last year, and since then have been a huge fan of Viktorija’s playful illustrations- especially her amazing nods to Wes Anderson and John and Yoko!
Hello Harriet: Cat lovers rejoice! Whether you want a t-shirt as adorable as this, a temporary tattoo set, a kitty collar or even a dreamy phone case- Harriet has you covered. Maggie loves her ‘Fur Bae’ collar, and it’s the perfect pressie for pets (and humans) alike!
