Wedding Guest Dressing With Selfridges

Ah, weddings. Who doesn’t love them? Dancing late in to the night to Luther Vandross (never too much), celebrating the love of two people you’re pretty fond of, indulging in one too many sugared almonds (and cake, always cake)- and finally panicking about what to wear almost as much as the bride to be, naturally…

With my first ever ‘friend’ wedding coming up later this week (and excited being a total understatement for how I’m feeling)- exploring the online wedding boutique on Selfridges came at quite the right time to perfect the art of the wedding guest outfit. With Self Portrait being almost as instinctual for the perfect guest dress as my natural urge to cry during every first dance, browsing the selection was a bit of a dream- and this Self Portrait Bluebell lace midi dress couldn’t be more perfect. With the ongoing debate of ‘are black and white ever ok if you’re not the bride and groom?’ the choice of navy’s, pastel and nude hues make for the perfect re-wearable palette.

…but the shoes, these beautiful shoes! Comfort is nearly always my number one priority when it comes to 8+ hours of wedding wear (including Diana Ross dancing and jumping to catch any potential bouquets), so anything with a chunky mid heel (and glitter being not necessary but totally preferable) makes for a total love story (no engagements necessary)- and these Aquazzura Alexa shoes are going to see many outings past the big day, that’s for sure- I do indeed!
