My Top Five Cleansers

Get it all off!

There’s a lot of different things that I tend to switch up in my beauty routine, but when it comes to finding reliable cleansers, I’m certainly a girl who knows what she likes. I have combination skin (with certain areas prone to dehydration and blemishes) so it’s taken me a little while to amass a miniature army of fail-safe cleansers that I know won’t let me down- so let me introduce you…

Keeping things gentle with Ren…

The thing I love about the Ren Evercalm Cleansing Milk is simply how gentle it is. It’s the perfect rescue for when I’m having dry and sensitive skin days (or weeks) and it’s the perfect nurse for any redness and irritation- which is blooming wonderful sometimes. The fact it has a milky consistency means it’s a little more nourishing and calming, as well as being super kind to delicate skin when you just need a little bit of face TLC.

A little luxury with Elemis…

If I want a cleanser that feels like pure indulgence, and a mini at home in-the-bath facial- then the Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm is my one stop shop. In my opinion it’s gentle enough to use at the end of every day to dissolve make up, but with it’s deep rose notes and melting oil based feel- it oozes something a little more grown up and luxurious than some other balms- making taking my face off a bit of a treat after a long day.

Tackling pores with Sunday Riley…

The Sunday Riley ceramic clay cleanser is completely like nothing I’ve ever tried before but recently became such a staple in my routine that I kind of wondered what I did without it. It’s consistency is somewhat like a gel, but with it’s clay properties makes for a deep clean that leaves my skin next-to spot free when I use it as part of a regular routine. It focuses on tightening pores and means that my skin is always left feeling incredibly clean after using, and having quite combination skin means it gets a big old thumbs up from me.

Keeping it simple with Liz Earle…

I feel like this is the holy grail of all cleansers- the wise owl of the cleansing community and a product you’ll always go to if in doubt. Before I was familiar with Lizzy E, both my mum and my nan were true patrons of the brand- and I’ve grown to be a huge fan of that teal packaging too. It’s not my daily cleanser, but if I’m after something reliable, fuss free and still a bit of a wonder worker I’ll head over to Cleanse and Polish- which does just that.

And the Garnier staple…

I wasn’t sure whether to include this as it’s not necessarily a ‘cleanser cleanser’ (if that makes ANY sense)- but seeing as it’s such a staple in my routine and always the first of a double cleanse, I couldn’t leave it out. I’m sure you’re all very familiar with this skincare holy water, but if you’re not- let me just spell it out: it gets shit off (pardon my French). Whether that’s heavy duty mascara, cakey foundation expertly applied by yours truly or even long lasting lippy- this magic little bottle will melt it away as if it were never there (I even made Joe buy a bottle to get off our oil based Halloween make up, so yeah- it’s a good ‘un).
