Our second (and last) day in Brussels was spent largely soaking in the incredible architecture- and staying a stones throw away from the Grand Palace square, we were totally and utterly spoilt for the stuff. During the day it all looked a little Grand Budapest hotel, and in the evening transferred to a twinkling postcard-perfect kingdom of giant guilds glistening in their gold and grand decor, which was all pretty special to see. I often take for granted how special some of Europe’s building work is (especially living in a city as diverse as London)- so getting to really absorb it all was pretty amazing (I promise I tried to keep my head up even when it was raining, too)!
With the sun coming out and the rain clearing away, I pulled out my favourite Frenchie knit and paired it with a simple denim skirt and my Dexys Midnight Runners neckerchief (because who can really get enough of ‘Come on Eileen?) The jumper grabbed a little attention during a couple of shopping pitstops throughout the afternoon, and is certainly always an excellent talking point with other Serge Gainsbourg fans- never a bad thing! The day ended with a brief tour around the more quiet parts of the city (and inevitably a little more of the sweet stuff), before scooting to catch the Eurostar back to the big smoke!
