First things first- can I have three cheers for bare leg weather? Okay, so writing this it’s definitely reverted back to jeans-and-ankles weather, but three cheers for the fact we had a DAY of it, right? (That’s one of ten this year, folks). Starting the day with a meeting in London (following a less than enjoyable commute- thanks, Southeastern)- the city felt positively summery (bar the angry commuters at Victoria)- and it felt like a treat to be strolling along the Kings Road (with a playlist of Swim Deep in my ear everything was suitably MIC).
Now- the jumpsuit. Being one of the palest people in London (not actually proven, but I’m quietly confident)- I’d always steered clear of yellow. The closest I’ve ever got to the colour was painting my childhood bedroom this exact shade (I was a big fan of it, ok) with a daisy rimmed border and bed sheets to match- dedicated I certainly was. However, after spotting this culotte jumpsuit on the Topshop site, I was impulsively in love. I wasn’t sure when I’d wear it or what for, but I bought it- and since then it’s had a comfortable handful of outings (with no means of slowing down). It’s definitely not one of the more subtle nods to any floral or seventies trends out there, but I’m a bit bloody obsessed (plus yellow + tan?! The BEST).
