To me, a cool (or should I say warm- hohoho) parka reminds me of three things- one, eskimos/explorers doing their utmost to be practical and stay warm (and dressing correctly at that- if worn right, a parka can act like a wearable duvet), two- that Mick Jagger for David Bailey photograph (because I will always strive to look that cool with my hood up) and three, models off duty- looking slinky AND warm- it’s a win win look. So, when Dorothy Perkins asked me to style up a couple of their new Style Essentials I was sold, and with one being this snug as a bug jacket- I’ve never felt so ready for the coming months (last winter I vowed to invest in one after freezing my bits n pieces off whilst parading around in a light jacket in Feburary) – plus, if it makes you feel like Cara D you gotta be on the right track, surely?
Their second Style Essential is a trusty pair of day-to-night block heels– and if they come in a triple colour way, you’re safe to say they’re going to go with pretty much everything in your wardrobe. I styled these bad boys with a trusty a-line floral dress and seventies inspired gilet for a muted nod to a certain era gone-by- and I can assure you I didn’t have to stop for a shoe break/whinge once- they’re really that comfy (and I’ve worn some shoes in my time, kids). Plus, if you fancy checking out their other essentials you can do so here– they’re essentials for a reason ; )
