From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

Autumnal Leaves

(Hat: American Apparel, Dress: C/O Jarlo, Jacket: Traffic People, Shoes: Old but similar here)

In an ideal world, it would be totally acceptable to pop to the shops in a flowing maxi dress (looking like Autumn itself) and fluffy jacket (I’ve tried to already make it ok to wear a UFO style hat) without anyone batting an eyelid. Alas, it’s these kind of get ups that usually attract a little more attention than normal, and seeing as I’m not traipsing out of Studio 54 with Mick Jagger on my arm (or y’know, Joe) these kind of things are usually saved for a special occasion.

With their new collection inspired by by a certain Janis, Stevie, Anita and a certain Miss Penny Lane- this dress from Jarlo felt completely perfect to dress up in and get into the (seventies) spirit. With a dress as stand out as this, it felt completely normal to strip back to basics, and team this amazing maxi with a few of my staple basics- in the shape of this jacket, hat and go-to Chelsea boots. Parfait!
