It’s very rarely you’ll see me in a maxi dress I feel fully comfortable in. Put it this way- my legs aren’t quite Campbell length, I can’t rock one like Jolie, and without heels I could easily be mistaken for someone, let’s say, a bit younger than me. So when I wear a maxi, the need for heels, height and an increase in confidence is often necessary. But alas- this dress seems to be the answer to my little-legged prayers. Not only was I able to go bare footed and embrace my inner bohemian Sienna Miller circa 2004- but I felt pretty confident too.
As you can see from the above, the dress really speaks for itself. I know my style is essentially accessory free at the best of times (style maverick you say)- but with this dress in particular I felt that by adding bracelets, long necklaces, earrings or even rings was almost unnecessary; as the beautiful detailing and stunning shape really do all of the talking.
This dress is the kind of dress you’d imagine wearing on a hot beachy holiday- but is equally perfect for something like a wedding (no white here) and I’ll certainly be keeping it at the front of my wardrobe if the weather keeps behaving. Additionally, as the second dress of the #WOWJarlo campaign it poses a nice contrast to the first dress– and is certainly different from the frock you’ll be seeing next week- which is possibly my number one, so stay tuned…
