From The Archive: 2012

A year of fewer questionable outfit choices, I finally found my blogging groove in 2012, and here you can find some favourite pieces, band interviews as they first appeared and a lot of hats too...

We’re gliding along with the song of a wintry fairy land

I can’t deny, when it comes to dressing up- I’m no expert. My usually boyish attire of jeans and a t shirt doesn’t normally extend to evening dresses, and if, on the odd occasion I am going out- I’ll usually opt for a shift with tights (and yes, flats). However, with people like a certain Florence Welch reigning top of my style inspiration list, and her Gothic-meets-pre Raphaelite style always having me at hello, I can’t help but always lust for her effortless glamour when I get ready to hit the town (well, something like that)…

So, when browsing the Gorgeous Couture website, undeniably this lace bodice maxi dress instantly stole my heart. Okay, I am certainly not one to ever opt for anything body-con- be it dresses, skirts, or tops (give me a potato sack any day)- but with the maxi-skirt acting as a somewhat guise, I couldn’t help but fall for it’s elegant charm, and swiftly added a slick of burgundy lipstick and the chunkiest heels for my attempt at a poor mans Florence, and you know what- I think I like it.
