After realising the shocking amount of band t shirts I own (two new ‘uns being bought this week alone), and how often I encorporate them into my day-to-day wardrobe, I thought I’d begin a new feature, talking about bands I’m currently listening to, and the merch I’m (attempting) to ‘style out’!
So, after seeing the amazing Slow Club this weekend and sadly falling in love with their merchandise and music, I felt compelled to wear this t shirt all weekend whilst singing along to some of my favourite tracks of theirs…
Slow Club are made up of boy girl duo, Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor, who are described as playing ‘folk rock’, but offer the genre a little bit more. Despite on stage and arguable lyrical chemistry, and singing of heartbreak and romance this is no love story. Having met at school, the pair compose witty uncomplicated songs from singing of Fiat Punto’s to coming home and watching Christmas T.V. Although there is something perhaps whimsical about singing about love, there is nothing ‘twee’ about them. With touchingly thoughtful lyrics, complimented by their beautiful vocals, there is certainly personality to their sound.
