I’m undoubtedly certain that a day at the seaside is my pure idea of happiness. Regardless of whether it’s rainy, blustery (normally) or even void of any real plans; the promise of colourful houses, excitement of a non-commuter train journey (perfect for catching up on unread magazines and books) and discovering somewhere new always trumps sitting at home- you never remember those days on Netflix, but always the ones where you did something fun, right? (Although Netflix days are absolutely integral sometimes, I know).
Anyway- last weekend Joe and I headed down to Brighton for the day, with plans of reshooting a city guide I’d curated in May, a little before my camera (and all it’s images) were sadly misplaced. Fortunately, this meant a day of revisiting new favourites, ‘re’ sampling a delicious burger at Lucky Beach to photograph (never a bad day ‘at work’) and heading back to some favourite spots to recapture them for a post coming soon- not bad right?
Now, I’m not always one to believe in ‘things happening for a reason’- but during snapping these photographs on the pier (in a favourite picnic-blanket-chic dress from River Island), and whilst asking Joe to grab a ‘quick snap of my shoes’ (a girls gotta do…)- he bent down to get the winning shoe-and snap bam- his trousers ripped. Of course- new trousers became a priority over feet photos- so we headed to the shops to pick up a replacement, and coincidentally bumped into the gorgeous Suzie and Josh- who we haven’t seen for a little while. We of course made afternoon plans for tea and catch ups- and after whiling away a couple of hours that afternoon with amazing company, I’ve never been so grateful to have a crotch- related trouser ripping situation on my hands- thanks poorly made trousers for bringing friends together and another fun weekend at the coast!
