One thing I’ve found myself leaning towards as the weather gets warmer are heavy doses of rich colour in place of where pastels usually would be- crazy, I know!
Although I can certainly promise my love of a sorbet shade isn’t going anywhere fast, it’s been nice to inject a little something else into my wardrobe and change things up for spring, from my safe place of pinks and chintzy florals as the weather gets warmer.
Having followed (and fawned) over bloggers like Hanna Stefansson for a while (a.k.a since my best friend introduced me), I’ve fallen head over heels for the subtle and refined way Scandi girls have been weaving colour into a refined and typically pared back wardrobe, and have been loving a playful mix of white denim with standout pieces like cherry reds and sunshine yellows. It feels a little bit retro, slightly sixties and pretty fun to inject something different to classic combinations of blue denim and crisp white- and was totally proven by the fact that when I recently went into COS I was so flawed by the rainbow colour selection I nearly had to whip my sunglasses out.

So, take this Mango jacket and braided bag. Having spotted them recently online, I fell in love with this burnt coral pink suede and playful spin on the beachy basket bag. Paired with the culotte style white jeans from & other stories which I’ve pretty much been married to so far this year (anything to feel like an extra member of Wham!), and my Superga high-tops, it feels like a perfect mix of eighties androgyny and modern Stockholm cool (in my head anyway, please don’t tell me otherwise)- and you can expect to see plenty more of that attempted from yours truly this summer…
