Is there really anywhere quite as beautiful as Paris in the spring? I’m sure I’ve said this before, but this time of year is undoubtedly my favourite time to see the city- when the flowers, blossoms and city comes to life, and the pavement-side tables, clinking of glasses and roadside chatter once again becomes a buzzing soundtrack to the city of love.
Heading out there last weekend, I couldn’t have imagined a better place to head to celebrate the collaboration of two of my favourite brands, Clare V and TOMS, on their sparkly new collaboration…
A little like me, Clare V is a Francophile at heart. Rooted in L.A, her pieces are inspired by the French capital, but her designs are created joining the dots between the two cities- fusing classic chic elements, and relaxed cool too. Having fallen in love with her accessories a while ago (see this dreamy little basket bag as exhibit A)- I loved seeing how she transferred her playful designs to footwear, and especially with a brand as iconic, and who do as much good as TOMS.

Now, let me fill you in on the fact that these shoes not only look gorgeous but do good too. If that isn’t the kind of multifunction you look for in a shoe (and a way to lessen the shoppers guilt), then look again, pals! Not only does this collaboration stand by TOMS One for One ethos (whereby every pair of shoes bought donates a pair to a child in need)- but both brands are committed to empowering women in their community, with this collaboration supporting the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC)- an organisation in LA that supports women experiencing homelessness, with the funds going to MADE by DWC- a social enterprise helping formerly homeless women discover creative talents and develop skills through employment opportunities- which now reaches up to 3000 women a year. It’s amazing to see two hugely renowned brands work so closely on something not only trend led and accessible, but aiming to make positive change too, what a dream!

So- with our passports packed, Joe and I caught an early morning Eurostar on Friday to soak up all of our favourite French pastimes for a long weekend away. With an agenda that included fresh flaky pastries, a stroll along our favourite gardens (including the Tuileries Garden and Jardin du Luxembourg) and sitting roadside sipping on frothy mochas and hot tea- it couldn’t have been a lovelier way to see in Spring and celebrate a dreamy duo (after French bread and salted butter of course)…

Post in collaboration with TOMS, but love of the brands and their messaging all very much my own

April 18, 2018 at 10:39 pmWell it’s no doubt that I love your outfits! I mean really, what’s not to love: we have a trench coat; a completely white outfit (I live for those); and one that is pretty much France summed up, a cute blue and white polka dot dress, a basket bag, and some red capped espadrilles! Um… yes please 😉
