Posting festive pictures before the start of advent feels a little like putting your Christmas decorations up before the 1st- it’s not totally acceptable, but when it’s this close and you’re feeling as Christmassy as I am- it’s okay, right? Plus- it’s never too early to start shopping around for festive wardrobe additions. I’m firmly in the camp that if you leave things too late (be it Christmas shopping or getting together a look for that Christmas party) you possibly won’t find what you’re looking for- so consider this early inspiration of sorts (and considering my gift guide starts tomorrow, a nod to treating yourself before festive shopping really kicks in)!
So, the suit, THE SUIT! Having been channeling my obsession for all things Florence Welch and Christine and the Queens for a while now (there’s something about jacquard metallic suits that have my heart a flutter)- this number from Wallis has instantly ticked off any Christmas quandaries my wardrobe has been having. With the perfect balance of seventies cool and modern tailoring- it’s the perfect office-to-dancefloor transition, and looks just as cool with a silk slip underneath as it does an embroidered blouse. Plus, the joy of a suit is being able to rework as separates, and I’m pretty sure these trousers will be perfect with a chunky knit come Boxing Day too- not too plan too far ahead of course. Ahem…
