#POPNOW

When I first saw the #POPNOW campaign video from Stella McCartney, I was in awe. I showed my mum (who casually declared ‘she’d already seen it on TV’) and couldn’t get over a) how beautifully it was shot, b) that it featured some of my favourite talented women, including Grimes (!!!) and c) the beautiful, fun and adventurous light it shone on strong female bonds and special authentic female relationships.

So when I was invited to the glittering galaxy that is Secret Garden Party with a couple of my internet-partners-in-crime Amelia and Victoria, I couldn’t wait for a day of exploring having an overdue catch up. Of course this was all to celebrate the exciting launch of Stella McCartney’s new POP fragrance– a deliciously girlie scent of tuberose, sandalwood and subtle floral notes- making for the perfect statement scent, without being overpowering- spot on for a day dressed in my favourite get up dancing with some favourite ladies, right?

…Right! And when it comes to working online, it can often be isolating and a little lonely, so knowing there are ladies like these who have my back, watch even my silliest of videos (there are a fair few) and are always there to pick me up means the total world to me. The online female community is a great one and I’m so, so lucky to be a part of it.

So, sharing an afternoon in the sun with these ladies, and the people who take you for who you are (and help you feel like the best version of you) really make me realise how fortunate I am. There’s a reason the term #squad has become popular, and if we all celebrate those girls that make us feel like like a member of Destiny’s Child, I think we damn well should (‘now throw your hands up at me!’)
