Things to do in London at Christmas

Seeing as in my opinion, London is one of the most beautiful cities in the world to enjoy at Christmas, I thought I’d pop up a little post with a couple of things I’ve done in the last couple of weeks that have got me in the spirit. I know there’s a tonne more amazing things to enjoy (see last years post here for ideas which are still doable)- but these are a couple of new additions I’ve loved (although they’ll probably come as no surprise to some!)

Skating at Somerset House

One of my favourite places to slide over on the ice in London has to be Skate at Somerset House. Although there’s plenty of choice from the equally stunning Natural History Museum, or even Winter Wonderland- the grandeur of Somerset House, with it’s beautiful open festive courtyard and it’s central location always have me at hello. On top of that, with the rink being with Fortnum and Mason- there’s plenty of delicious food to feast on (all the hot chocolate) and a Christmas Arcade too. What. A. Dream.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Sketch

I’ve mentioned Sketch plenty of times on this blog (including a big old feature in my afternoon tea guide)- but over the festive period Sketch are sprucing things up a little, and taking Christmas to the next level. If afternoon tea isn’t treat enough, throw in some carol singers (which legit make you feel like you’re in a scene in Love Actually), some delicious additions to an exclusive Christmas menu and some decorations to boot. It’s definitely a treat (and would make a perfect Christmas gift as it’s available until the 31st), so book now if you fancy something very special this season! Alternatively, Mandarin Oriental, Lanes of London and The Orangery also have great festive teas!
