There seems to be a bit of a common theme this month, doesn’t there? Think peachy sorbet hues, warm bronzes (finding something for this pasty face wasn’t an easy task)- and a splash of orange to really kick start the summer spirit whilst we’re at it too. Blushes have been my main point of ‘experimentation’ this month (wow Liv, you really are wild)- with Clinique’s cheek pop in ‘Melon Pop’ and C Tilbs (yup, again) in ‘First Love’ adding a subtle warmth to an otherwise ‘English rose’ base (with thanks to the Nars Creamy Concealer and Benefit’s Boi-ing, for insuring it’s pretty flawless too). For lips I’ve been turning to the Collection festival lips selection, with their Field day lippy in ‘Tulip’ being one of the prettiest pinks in my little collection. Finally, for my nails I’ve been loving lots of corals, and ‘Tiddly’ by Butter has been one of my top go to’s, and not just because of the name. I promise.
Now, I’m a bit of a beauty box novice if I’m being totally honest. The amount of choice is a little scary, and having so many new brands to pick from and know what’s ‘right’ can be a tiny bit daunting. But, low and behold- the Love Me Beauty box- a box that has pretty much altered my views on the unknown world of beauty, by delivering some pretty lovely bits in box form. Not only did it pack some old favourites in new shades (I’m looking at you Lord & Berry kohl liner), but meant I could sample the infamous Better Than Sex mascara and fall in love with new brand on the block, Cailyn, and their bloody brilliant lip tint too.
This month has definitely been about new routine, and for the first time in my life- I’ve been using one sole set of products for more than 3 days, and I think it’s paid off. These little routine-makers have come in the shape of the Verso travel kit (the first time I’ve used Retinol in my skin care too) and includes a miniature cleanser, day cream and night cream which have settled my skin, reduced redness and made it feel nicer than it has in a long while, huzzah! On top of that I’ve occasionally been turning to the gorgeously silky Origins A Perfect World cleanser, and always using the Original Skin serum (it’s my second bottle already)- as it seems to hit spots as soon as they make an appearance. I’ve finally been loving the Fresh Lotus eye gel for waking up tired peepers, especially as the cucumber makes for a refreshing boost- mmm mm!
Okay, another box- in a month, once you got a good thing going, right? This limited edition Get the Gloss box is a little different, and I think that’s why I love it. Packed with lots of healthy foodie favourites (oats, chia seeds and green tea anyone?) This box makes for the perfect means of trying some health boosting super foods and goodies, without feeling too confused and looking a little lost in Sainsburys. Although I’m yet to try the chia seeds (mixed feels towards these little grey balls), I’d love to hear some recipe suggestions on how I can include them in something- but all in all totally love the concept behind this cheeky body boosting box!
