A couple of weekends ago Kristabel, Lucy, Dunya and I hopped on a coach from Hammersmith, donning our weekend best- for a weekend in Somerset, to celebrate our gorgeous friend Carrie’s birthday. Staying at her family home, we spent a weekend giggling, practising our very best West Country accents (which, let me tell you- weren’t half bad), visiting Monkey World and wrapping everything up with a good ol’ Sunday pub dinner. But of course, no visit to Somerset is complete without a visit to Kilver Court (read: the dreamiest shopping outlet, filled with everything from Orla Kiely to Mulberry)!
We spent our afternoon in the space discovering and browsing lots of gorgeous brands (including Jack Wills and MiH), coming very close to having a naughty moment in Mulberry (next time) and eating a hearty lunch in the pantry- all before spending the final part of the afternoon indulging in a gorgeous afternoon tea. But this wasn’t just any old afternoon tea. Hosted by Mulberry and Kilver Court founder, Roger Saul- we were let us into some exciting future plans for the outlet, and told us lots of inspiring tales about his time in the fashion industry; as well as also sampling lots of cake and scones- which is pretty spot on for a Saturday in the country indeed…
