From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

I’ll never be able to work the effortless off-duty cool of people like Camille and Lucy (a girl can dream)- but hey, I suppose you could say this is my attempt at doing something a little cooler and more laid back for me. Considering how different it is to outfits like my last (which, surprisingly is more a ‘day-to-day’ outfit for me) I felt surprisingly comfortable in it (who can blame a girl when she’s wearing a jumper and New Balance’s) and it felt good to be a little bit more relaxed with how I was dressing, even if it was just working from home.

Additionally, when I do opt for something a little more casual, a novelty slogan jumper always comes up tops (you can take a girl away from twee, but you can’t take the twee away from the girl)- which explains my love for Zoe Karssen perfectly. I’ve had my eye on this jumper for ages, which as well as being super toasty, is pretty versatile- and I’m excited to try styling it with something a little bit more done up- so watch this space!

Do you ever like to step out of your style comfort zone? Who’d have thought something so simple would be so different?
