One of the joys of being freelance, and spending a lot of time working from home is the charm of being able to spend a perhaps unhealthy amount of time in a tartan pair of fleeces trousers (pj bottoms, that is) and a top that could perhaps be mistaken for something to hold your potatoes- which certainly makes the days spent braving commuter train rides and picking out which sandwich to have in Pret during lunch hour marginally more glamorous; and means I usually make far more of an effort than necessary. However, for days spent street styling (especially during this unwelcome cold spell we seem to call winter) I tend to leave pretty dresses and skirts hanging in my wardrobe.
Out of all of the outfits you’ve probably seen on my blog, this is probably one of the less pretty; but hey, who said you can’t be coordinated when wrapping up? This parka jacket from Own The Runway has fast become one of my wardrobe staples (especially when I feel a Liam Gallagher moment coming on) and the fact it has a hood makes it the perfect cover up for BHD’s (that’s bad hair days to you and I). Additionally, I couldn’t help but throw on this super cool dinosaur brooch from Jiji Kiki– which I can’t help but feel Ross from Friends would be proud of, and I’m a very big fan of.
