After seeing the retro Prada style 50’s pastel car print ablazoned across the Great British high street (Primark, I’m looking at you!) I was unsure whether to buy into a piece of this vehicle inspired action. Although there’s been some excellent affordable imitations if the print, and it this trend sums up everything I love about fashion this summer (prints, pastels, 50s etc etc) I was wondering whether it was all a little too much? But, hold that thought. After browsing the amazing Olive boutique (who have some absolute gems FYI) I spotted this design, which drove me slightly crazy (pun definitely intended). With the most adorable contrasting collar, and ladylike peplum detail adding the perfect unique vintage twist, not only does it make a great casual piece, but would also work perfectly with a pencil skirt or cigarette trousers for something a little smarter. I also went a little ‘girlie girl’ happy on the kitsch and twee accessories in this post, teaming a fun print with some glittery shoes and an amazing cookie ring (that ACTUALLY smells of chocolatey biscuits- seriously) that I’m a tiny bit in love with.
How do you feel about the infamous Prada car print? Have you bought any awesome designer inspired high street pieces this season?
