If there’s one thing the start of Autumn brings (as well as the obligatory restoration of the 180 denier tights)- it’s the promise of grey days and squally showers (because this girl, definitely watches too many weather reports). So, with that in mind- Joe and I decided to pay a visit to the seaside, of course! With last weekend being one of the last ‘free ones’ until October (read: the height of Autumn), we decided to make the most of ‘the last of summer’ by heading down to somewhere we’d been dying to properly visit for ages- Margate!
Much like our visit to Coney Island earlier this year, typically Joe and I chose possibly the most inappropriate day to pay a visit to seaside town, Margate. Not ones to be put off by rail replacement bus services (even if the whole journey did take 3 hours each way), we packed our brollies, food recommendations, railcards and positively British ‘BRING-ON-THE-WEATHER’ attitudes, for a day of meandering around the Kent coast. Although I do have a miniature guide coming up soon (trust me, there’s enough in this place to do even when it’s raining), we made sure to pay a visit to their beautiful sandy beach before the heavens opened, and even if we did get a little wet- an Autumn trip to the coast, isn’t always a bad idea!
