The Weekend From Home Activity List

If like me, your calendar has suddenly become overwhelmingly empty- with weekends suddenly looking like any other Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday , I thought I’d share a handful of things I’ve written down to do at the weekend, to give me a few small things to look forward to and perhaps inspire anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Obviously you can do these things whenever, but for me personally- having a loose structure of days during the week (PE with Joe, getting up before 9:30 etc) and leaving weekends for more enjoyable tasks (lol, not sure when cleaning fell into that category but here we are) has helped differentiate the days of the week, which for me has been really helpful. Naturally, it’s a luxury to have such an amount of free time- so I’m trying to remind myself to enjoy the smaller things and not put too much pressure where rest and looking after yourself is equally as important too. At the moment it’s Dua Lipa > Duo Lingo and coming to terms with the shocking realisation that I’d only seen When Harry Met Sally for the first time this week- so we’ll see how these lists develop in the coming weeks… what are you up to this weekend?

P.S In case you’re feeling overwhelmed by the amount of activity suggestions at the moment when you’re short on time, caring for a family, working tirelessly or otherwise- please know there isn’t a ‘right’ way to spend your time at the moment. Taking care and finding moments of peace in doing what’s important for you and those around you comes first.

x

I just watched Sleepless in Seattle!! Great movie – and I’m definitely going to watch more Meg Ryan movies now. Love the list!

Hahaha I love your list – how it’s like, unproductive but still productive. My lists involve stuff like “blow up my air bed and read a book on the balcony” or “binge watch a TV show from the teen fantasy era eg. The Vampire Diaries”, so like self care relaxation but also in a list. That’s what quarantine is all about.

What a lovely list! It feels refreshing to be able to see a list that entails usual weekend activities without having to worry about checking work emails or attending work-related events. It is indeed a great way to reboot and rest. Also!! Can I just say how you’ve inspired me to start doing scrapbooking again? Thank you, Olivia!

    Stay healthy!

    Cheers,
    HAnna
