I Wrote A Book And TODAY IT’S OUT

As I scramble to pour out the perfect words to summarise what feels like the most enormous career milestone, the clock has just gone 1am on the 6th Feb 2020- and as always, I’m running late on being organised but fuelled on enough excitement and nerves that I think I’ve still got a little bit left in me until the morning- because did I mention, MY BOOK GOES ON SALE TODAY?!

The whole process has been the most surreal, exciting and nerve-wracking experience and today, after just over two years in the making, rejections, a few setbacks and many a lesson learnt- my book- all two hundred and so pages of it- IS OUT IN THE WORLD. I’ve got a couple of blog posts coming up talking about the process (as well as a podcast episode too)- but wanted just to share a little something here, as I know today will probably be a bit of a whirlwind, and I wanted to celebrate it with a proper, hand written (how else Liv?) blog post, with everything in one place.

Filled with everything from pick-me-up tips, voices from women around the world, interviews with some wildly inspiring people and discussions across everything from your inner critic, body image, friendship, comparison and self belief- I hope that there’s something in there to bring you a little sunshine on an insecure day, and that this handbook can be the perfect companion when you need it most. It’s a continuation of the wonderful community online, for days when you’d rather leave your phone in your desk draw and escape a little in to some pages instead.

I also just wanted to say a huge thank you for baring with me over the last few months. When I’ve been frantically scrambling to get organised with blog posts, podcast recording and helping organising the events for the book tour (!) It’s all led up to today and I am so ridiculously proud of the fact we’ve MADE IT. Naturally I’m of course absolutely bricking it too, but what’s a few nerves? I currently have a little speech to rehearse before the launch this evening, a Love Island episode to catch up on and a barnet that needs to be cut- but I truly hope you’ll love, savour and enjoy it as much as I have writing it- shaky clammy hands and all.

I hope that it makes this big world feel a little smaller and more comforting when you’re struck with a bout of insecurity- whether that’s a body image blip, friendship fallout, inner critic monologue- or just need a pep talk for some serious self belief. Hopefully this little pink handbook will offer a warm hug and a bit of solace during the trickier times, because like a good reliable pal, or re-runs of Fleabag, it’ll always be there when you need it.

I’ve popped a list of some of the brilliant retailers that will be stocking it below- but if you also happen to be swinging by a real life shop, I know you might be likely to find it stacked on some of those shelves too…

Thank you again and again and again for all of your amazing kindness, support and endless cheerleading. What I did to get so lucky is beyond me. Thank you.

x

I’m so happy for you, congratulations! Writing a book is a mental process, and how you’ll feel today is something hard to describe to people who have not also written one. Enjoy every moment of it, as you’ll never celebrate your first publication day again. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy xxx

Am currently saving my pennies to get this book for a friend who has always struggled with self-esteem. Recently she has been dating a guy, who isn’t the nicest person – and her family told her to let him go. She has lost all faith in herself as she thinks she missed seeing him for who he really is, and now thinks she will be alone and unhappy forever. Reading the reviews of this book on goodreads.com I know it will be good for her. Thank-you Liv x
