Suit Like Jagger

You know how you occasionally save images on Instagram or Pinterest as reference points to outfits you’d one day love to recreate? Often it’s cool girls who write blogs, street style stars or even editors for cool magazines that I’m probably not sure of the title of. Sometimes though, it’s other things and people that inspire me- actresses, characters in films and singers in bands and artists that I love. Take this suit for example. One image I’ve had tucked amongst pictures of Chung and Jeanne for as long as I can remember is this picture of Mick Jagger in what can only be described as the check suit of dreams.

Now, after being pretty controlled throughout December with the ol’ shopping- a couple of weeks ago I was out with my mum and nan and stumbled across this total gem in Massimo Dutti. Being someone who doesn’t usually pay a visit there, you can thank my nan for this discovery- as within about 5 minutes I’d tried it on and raced to the checkout- thinking ‘IT’S MY VERSION OF THE SUIT!’ Don’t get me wrong, it was far more than a sole impulse to live out my dreams of being a backing singer of the Stones. Although I’m sure I’m as fond of this two piece as Sir Mick is of his (e.g here and here too), it fills not one- but two gaps in my wardrobe, ticking the gingham blazer and trousers boxes and giving me an evening wear look I know I’ll be teaming with heels and trainers endlessly. Perhaps this is the subliminal reason I got a fringe too? Who knows…

All suits aside, Joe and I shot these photos during our stay at the gorgeous Artist Residence yesterday. Easily one of my favourite hotels in London- we planned on strolling around to take some on the street, when lazy Liv saw an opportunity on the red carpet (just call me Mariah) and we ended up snapping some of my favourite photos without catching a cold- wahoo! It’s one of the coolest spaces in London for staying, eating, drinking- it all- so I’m really glad we were able to really utilise the gorgeous corridors and pretend (even if for a moment) that maybe, just maybe, I was shooting my album cover. She got the suit- now just to learn how to sing…

I love Massimo Dutti, but their trousers are always too big around my waist… But these look perfect, maybe I need to have another go.

This suit is gorgeous, and you pull it off so well! I really like the full-on boyish look with the loafers. Definitely something I wouldn’t wear because it’s out of my comfort zone and my regular style, but I always admire outfits like that on my favourite bloggers!

Omg, its gorgeous! No wonder you were happy when you seen it, its almost an exact copy of Mick Jaggers! Sometimes, those perfect pieces are hard to find. But once they are (sometimes in the most unusual places) its so worth it! These photos are beautiful as well.
