What Are You Doing New Years Eve?

Advertorial with L.K Bennett and RewardStyle

It seems to have become a bit of an unintentional tradition to don a velvet suit around these parts come Christmas, and New Years Eve.

Although I promise this absolutely wasn’t planned (this jacket has been a total go-to since picking it up a few months ago)- there’s something about this time of year and ‘party season’ that makes me yearn for great tailoring, rich velvets and bloody good accessories (exhibit a and b). I’m definitely not a connoisseur when it comes to party wear, but knowing I have some key staples in my wardrobe (e.g a pyjama style jacket and perfect fitted velvet trousers) means I can add in some red lipstick and seasonal accessories when the call of the disco ball comes to play.

Case in point: this gorgeous LBB from L.K Bennett (that’s little black bag, FYI). Being someone who is forever a tiny bag kind of gal, this satin number is the perfect balance of practical and beautiful. Not only does it double up as a shoulder bag, but with it’s small boxy shape and gold hardware, makes for the number one desk-to-dancefloor (and every day in-between) bag. Perfect for dressing up jeans and a band tee, or pulling together a slouchy suit- there’s not a lot a little bag like this can’t do. Plus, there’s something about a timeless box bag that you know will last long after the festive season too. Coordinated with these timeless metallic ankle boots, which I have yet to get tired of (sorry not sorry)- I know this is an addition which will last far longer than Auld Lang Syne come 12:01.

Oh, and did I mention accessorising with a new haircut? I jest, I jest- but the bangs! The bangs! (or fringe, as I’ve definitely always called it). In a total spur of the moment (and wholly unlike me situation)- whilst at the hairdressers this week (for a trim, no less) I decided to bite the bullet and go for a fringe. It’s something I’ve been deliberating for months, and definitely started to feel like every time I was in the hot seat the question came round again. So, after an Instagram poll (potentially obligatory for hair changing decisions), I bit the bullet and left a couple of hours later pretending to be Zooey Deschanel and not recognising myself in any window/mirror/reflective surface I walked past. It’s certainly going to be a grower (aren’t these things always)- but it’s definitely provided an instant way of switching up my wardrobe and feeling like everything is new in there. Plus, isn’t a new year a time for a little switch up every now and again? That’s what I’m telling myself anyway…!

So! I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. It feels like this year has flown by in the blink of an eye, but I’ll be back next week with a big old year round up post (my favourite) and in the meantime probably sitting on Insta Stories superzooming Quality Street and roast potatoes. Thank you so much for all of your endless support, kind words and bloody general amazingness- I feel very lucky to still be saying that year on year, truly. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year you wonderful bunch!

I love this suit, it is gorgeous! Especially with the silver boots. I will be wearing a gorgeous pink velvet dress for New Year this year, even though I am just going to a house part, it is nice to get a bit dressed up!

    Hey, Liv
Just a question, did you buy your necklace from Missoma yourself?
I love it and want one, however Safari stops the redirect to say that the website’s certificate is not valid and it might be a website pretending to be Missoma and I’m a bit scared to proceed…
But if you got your necklace the same way, then I shall stop my worrying and get myself one last present this year! lol
    Thanks in advance! 🙂
And love the outfit and the new hair style!!! 🙂 That Boden jacket was on my sales list, but sold out before I got a chance to press checkout! 🙁 Did get the printed velvet suit which I absolutely adore!!! 🙂
Hope you’re ready for tonight!!! 🙂
